Site should be back to normal now. I don’t think it was really affected by the DNS problems, I basically was just notifying just in case there were problems. At this point, there shouldn’t be any problems. If there are, let me know.
This site is hosted from a computer sitting under my bed. My internet connection is fast, so the extremely low usage this site gets won’t bother it at all. However, there’s some upgrades being done to the network, and since there is no redundancy, this site will go down during some of the network changes. It’s the downside to hosting your site from home. Anyway, if you discover you can’t reach the site, more than likely something is going on and it will come back online shortly.
So I finally decided to jump ship from AT&T. The reason is AT&T has abandoned BBB case number #91066881 in which I complain that AT&T spams me via SMS, charges me for each spam, and claims ignorance on the whole thing. Since I work at Verizon, I naturally chose Verizon service. I do get a discount, but really, there’s not many other service providers to go to. I’m not here to bash service providers, so I’ll just say Sprint was due to another BBB case.
At first, I didn’t really notice my size changing as I lost weight. However, I’m starting to run low on pants I can wear. At first I gained a few pair that became too small, but now even those are a bit loose.
I’m the kind of fat guy that wears his pants kinda low. Your waist line is around the bottom of your belly so when you’re fat, you can’t wear pants at the waist line, it’s either high or low, unless you wear suspenders. Wearing pants high, for me, is uncomfortable, so I wear them low. This means I wear a slightly smaller pants size than what is needed at my waist line.
I think I will go do some pants shopping, at least to get an idea of what size is good to get me as a gift
I just watched a video showing off Stargate Worlds. This is a game I’ve been idling keeping an eye on because I was a fan of the Stargate SG1 series. At first, it sounded like the game was going to be fresh, new, and innovative, because it’s a *gasp* non-fantasy MMO. However, after watching the video, I was a bit disappointed.
It reminded me of Tabula Rasa, of which I participated in the beta fairly actively. It had a lot of great concepts and potential, but the creators decided to bend to the fans who demanded the game be more like other MMOs in that they tend to play themselves. What I mean by this is you simply target something, point, and click, and the game does the rest. No skill or strategy is required. Tabula Rasa was changed because people who preferred the point and click play style could not compete against people who actually had the audacity to develop strategy.
Anyway, it’s possible SGW may be what I wanted out of TR, but most likely, if it wants to be successful, it will have to do what TR did and bend to the will of the players.
